15 more hours =D

till the moment I've been waiting for since the start of the school year! I'm ecstatic!

anyways, Verity posted this youtube link on facebook. It's a very very interesting way of telling ppl who OTs are and what we do. Lol. Watch!

Ahh I digressed. Too excited about 3.15pm tomorrow that I can't study. Hahah. I'm going to miss spending late nights at the abacus... weird, but true. Guess I should stop procrastinating and try and study now :)

:D I'll be a free woman the next time I post something :D

ps: Jem's snoring away next to me. He looks sooo comfortable sprawled across 2 chairs. I was gonna take a pic and post it up but my cam's at home and my phone died. Lol. So much for studying.

my 2 minutes break

I thought this was funny.. I caught one of the blue Curtin library staff guys (the geeky asian one) checking his facebook when he was doing his rounds. He just couldn't resist when he found a free computer. Lol.

I feel so lost without my phone and I get weird thoughts popping into my head like I might get assaulted or something and I wouldn't be able to call anyone...

I feel like I'm in Chinatown.. This guy and girl across the partition are talking so loudly and really really fast in viet/thai/canto... they all sound the same to me.

Awesomely brilliant idea!

I have a brilliant beyond brilliant idea that I shouldn't even be thinking about cos that means I won't be able to concentrate on anything else like my studies and that is really really bad considering my exams start in 36 1/2 hours but I can't help it cos it's just so brilliant that the imaginary lightbulb above my head keeps flicking on every few seconds and I so want to tell someone people about it but I know I shouldn't because then we won't stop talking about it, which will make things worse cos then I will be jumping up and down with excitement in my seat in the exam hall in anticipation of the minute I start 3 months of brain inactivity, which is also the moment I've been waiting for since the start of the year, just so I can share my brilliant beyond brilliant idea! EEKS!

Proof that I'm NOT a fob.

I was suppose to be getting another 10 hours of studying in today, but I digressed. This is why. LOL

Credits go to Stuff Asian People Like

Young Asians in America (Australia counts too) come in many forms. Below are the major categories. Most Asians fit into multiple groups. For example, Rice-boys can also be Fobs and many Tabs are Fobulous. The only groups that are never part of another group are the Twinkies and the Asian-Americans. Claim your Fobbiness! When you see your Asian friend, greet them with ‘Wassup Fob!'. And if your Asian friend says something ridiculous, say ‘Fob please!' Of course, when a non-Asian calls you a Fob, that is grounds for a fight. Ahahaha. The categories below are to be taken lightheartedly. Read, recognize and laugh.

.

.

Twinkie

- Besides your nationality, there is little to distinguish you from white people

- Your significant other is not Asian and never has been

- You have few Asian friends, if any

- You are embarrassed at family events because you cannot speak your language and everyone has to switch to English to communicate with you

- You have no idea that the other types of Asians on this list even exist

- You think Hello Kitty is dumb and do not know what Sanrio is

- You are the only Asian on this list that does not know what Bubble Tea is

- You drive a Ford or some other domestic car and if you drive a Honda, it is stock

.
.

Asian-American

- You claim yourself as Asian, but real Asians think you’re whitewashed and non-Asians see you as a foreigner. You fit in nowhere

- You have heard of Bubble Tea but have never actually had any

- You are confused about your cultural identity and express this frustration through spoken word performances at your college

- You read A. magazine and think it’s great

- You do not know who Edison, Jay Chou, Ayu, or G.O.D. are

- You are only vaguely aware of the other Asians below
.
.

.

.

Yap (Young Asian Professional)

- You are in one of these professions:a) Medicine / Pharmaceuticalb) Engineeringc) Financed) Investment Bankinge) Accounting

- Most of your wardrobe was purchased at Banana Republic

- You go to ‘mixers' on Thursday nights to meet other Yaps and talk about the Dow Jones.

- You did exactly what your parents wanted you to do and as a result, your life is hella boring

- Your apartment/home is decorated almost exclusively with stuff from Pier 1

- Your parents always talk to their friends about how much money you make. If they don’t, then you’re a dissapointment

.
.

Fob (Fresh Off tha Boat)

- You were not born in America

- You know who Edison, Jay Chou, Ayu, or G.O.D. are. In fact, you have seen them at Atlantic City or Las Vegas recently

- You speak your native language fluently and so do all your friends

- You do not have any non-Asian friends

- Your parents do not speak any English

- When you speak English, you like to make everything plural

- You get extremely good grades in school

- You cannot dance

- Your fashion sense comes from whatever country you’re from and you incorporate nothing from American fashion into your wardrobe

.
.

.
.

SuperFob

- Your command of the English language is minimal and you don’t care

- You like dim sum chicken feet

- You do not own a single CD, VCD, Video game, or DVD that isn’t bootlegged

- Your only hangout is Chinatown

- All the lights in your house are fluorescent

- You dry your cloths outside your window

- You need a haircut

- You either smell like cigarettes or food

.
.

Fobabee

- You are an Asian-American or Twinkie who has recently ‘awoken'

- You have a newly found fetish of Asian girls/boys

- You have taken the Asian Studies course at college

- You are trying to learn as much as possible about your culture to make up for your lifetime of trying to be white (Twinkie ; Banana) or Black (Chigger ; Tea egg)

- If you are lucky, you will grow to become Fobulous

.
.

Gangsta Fob (Fobsta)

- You have shot another Asian

- Your favorite hangout is a pool hall

- When you talk, you sound like a cross between a Fob and an urban black kid

- Your hair looks silly, but no one will tell you because you’ll shoot them

- You have a serious gambling problem

- You are a Rice-boy, but your mods are cheap and are never painted to match the rest of your car

- No one tells you your rice ride looks cheap because you’ll shoot them

- You want to have a Tab girlfriend, but can only get Hoochie Tabs

.
.

.
.

Tab (Trendy Asian B*tch)

- You shop at A/X, Bebe and Club Monaco

- You smoke

- Your cell phone is completely customized

- Somewhere in your purse is a Sanrio item

- You only date Asian and will only date a boy with a nice car

- You are often seen with Rice-boys

- You never travel alone. You are either in the company of other Tabs or your Rice-boy boyfriend

.
.

Hoochie Tab

- You are an import car model

- Your boobs are not real

- There are naked pictures of you floating around on the internet somewhere

- Clear heels are your favorite

- Your role models are Tila Nguyen and Kaila Yu

- Your boyfriend is a Gangsta Fob

- You cheat on your boyfriend

- Unlike most Asians, you do not do well in school
.

.

Rice-Boy

- You drive an Asian import. Usually a Honda or Acura

- Your souped up car (known as a Rice-ride or Rice-rocket) is unrecognizable from it’s original stock form

- Your exhaust pipe is big enough for your head to fit in

- The spoiler on your car looks like it was made by Boeing

- The interior of your car also looks like it was designed by Boeing

- You always drive like you are racing someone

- You are not afraid of dying in a crash, but you are afraid of speed bumps and parking lot on-ramps

- The only other person besides yourself who can sit in your car is your 105 lbs Tab girlfriend. If anyone else sits in your car, the entire bottom of it will be touching the ground

- Even though your car is a Honda, it goes faster and is worth more than a Lotus Esprit

.
.

Fobulous

- You speak perfect English and you are fluent in your native language

- You have Asian friends as well as non-Asian friends

- You listen to Asian pop as well as American music

- You are equally aware of both popular American culture and Asian pop culture

- You are a good dancer

- You date Asian by choice even though you could rock the opposite sex of any other race

- You are a good designer and have superior Html skills (for that fly MySpace / Xanga page)

- For you, FOB stands for Fabulous Oriental Being

- You have lots of Asian pride

------------------------

I like to think I'm Fobulous, and NOT a Fob :P Granted, I can't dance. Nor do I fulfill the criteria of the other 2 below that. But still. Lol

What a way to start 2009

The timetable for next semester's units are out. This is how we planned for it to be.

I have to wake up for freakin 8am lectures/tutorials for 3 days! What a chore! I haven't done that since... 2 sems ago (or was it 1). It was ages ago that I can't even remember. Arghhh this sem's not even done and I'm already dreading the next. But I suppose one of it's perks is that we get 2 days off, that is if we register for the classes early before everyone fills up the good slots, leaving us stuck with friday classes (like this sem!). They lied :( They specifically said registration would open at 10am or something and so I believed them. I was still in Lala Land when YH called me up at 8.30am because all the slots we planned for were gone. I'm going to stock up on coffee and stay up all night this time.

.

.

Oh wait.. Coffee makes  me sleep better.... I'll figure something out.

Jess's Masquerade Party

Jess Yap celebrated her 24th last week with a Masquerade themed party. It was a very cosy celebration with lots of colourful get ups and a whole lot of bootyshaking. Think Yu Min might have dislocated his hips :P (See if you can spot which picture later. Lol)

It was so hard to find a mask to fit my asian panda eyes (If I catch anyone staring at my eyes the next time I'm talking to them, they'll suffer the consequences). Even with a very patient and all-too-kind driver, it just wasn't meant to be for me to find one. Hahah. I ended up borrowing one from Esther, who brought over my favourite waffle cookies thingy about 10 minutes ago
*eeks! jumps for joy*

I'll let the pictures do the talking. Enjoy :)

The clockworks in my head

1. It's the last week of uni and I'm still staring at my to-do list for Week 1 on my 'Bulletin Bored'. I realise I haven't completed a single week's worth of readings till now.

2. When will Kenny be out of the shower? I stink from cooking.

3. Should I even bother applying for the next round of Honours? My recent grades aren't exactly something to be proud of and the thought of having to write out an application on your goals and contribution to the research team just puts me off. I like the idea of graduating with Honours but... research? Ulgh.

4. Why are guys so dense? And why do they always use 'Well, I kinda maybe like you' instead of admitting it straight. So much less complicated don't you think? I seriously hope not all guys are wired that way.

5. I could really use a Gloria Jean's White Chocolate Mocha topped with whipped cream, caramel and sprinkled with chocolatey goodness right about now.

6. How do you write a CV??

7. That choreographer on stage last Sunday was hot.

8. Should I go for Errol Cock's lecture tomorrow? I'll feel bad for the old man if I don't go because an average of 15 people show up every week. But I get zilch from it when I go anyway. Tough choice...

9. I'm suppose to look for Ange's sweater... and her other... stuff.

10. I'm loving sister Chelle Tran's love heart up on 'Bulletin Bored'. It makes me feel loved.

11. It's Audrey's birthday! Happy Birthday Drey! We've been the best of friends since childhood. When we were little, we used to have regular sleepovers (me at hers, because I had boysss (and we girls say 'eew' to boys my brothers) in my house), shopping sprees (with the mum of course), little late night girly chats, clothes swap, dolling up, and all the things little girls do. She was like the sister my brothers never were. Even though we both kind of grew up apart since she moved to US, she's still my best friend and I love her to bits.

12. I need to clean my room...again. World War XXIV broke out at Room 3, 120 Leach Highway.

13. Drey and I should have a huge celebration to replace all the birthdays we've spent apart! Gahh, I really miss that girl.

14. Should I really bother with you? Cos it's taking up a lot of space in my mind and I really don't see how it's beneficial.

15. I should really memorise my speech for tomorrow! I almost forgot about it. Oh yea, meet Jas for lunch and finish off those splints.

16. Gosh, my splints are U-G-L-Y! For 2 marks each, I'll probably end up with a total of 1.5. Recap- Jon NG: Gosh, what's that ugly thing?! ... -.-"'

17. I really need to relight that fire for God and I really need to be equipped with the Word. I should've known how to answer that Jewish girl when she asked 'If God is Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and Jesus is God's son, how can he be all 3 at once?' ... All of us should've known how to answer that.

18. I miss my mummy dearest and daddy dearest.

19. I should shower now. If Flipper was alive and had a functional nose, he would say "You Schtink!" Sorry, Flipper.

20. Goodness, I'm treating words like 'functional' as layman terms now. Too much OT. Too much.

21. Ahh I did it again! I used 'layman'. I would never have used functional and layman in my daily use of words before I came into OT... I have to admit, the words ADL (Activities of Daily Living, for the uninitiated), crossed my mind when I was trying to explain the last sentence. I could really use that end of the year holidays now.

22. I found Ange's sweater... and her other... stuff.

23. Wow, I went this far and didn't think of Facebook once.. D-oh!

24. Suddenly, I really really miss you guys..
Carolllll- Quit watching your anime and go study girl. Can't believe you'll be back home even before i finish my paper. Haha. Thanks for making me feel a little part of home everytime I talk to you even though, in your blurness, I bet you wouldn't notice.

Mr. Ng- Thanks, again :) I hope you're ok. You know I'm here if you ever need to talk, right? I'm holding on to your 'make everyone cook' party (If you follow through with your take away plans, I'll personally kick you out! hahah). Oh yea, and I'm still not over you having a laksa party in my absence. Bahh

Sexyrena- Somehow, you know just the right time to lift up my spirit whenever I'm down. I know God's doing amazing things in your life and I'm still in awe at how much you've grown ever since you came to know Him. I'm very very proud of you, sexy :) hehe

Mama Papaya- I didn't even know you moved to UK and that you're my faithful reader! Lol. But yea, I wish you were in KL. So much easier to hang with you. I won't just crash at your place this time :P hahah. We should explore more redundant sites together like waitless.org lol (which, apparently, isn't there anymore :S). All the best in UK, my red faced friend!

25. Time to do some work!

Monday, October 27, 2008

It's 3am and I can't sleep.. Maybe it's because I've slept for a total of 11 hours today.. well, technically yesterday. Or maybe it's because I've got a million things going on in my head which I can't seem to get rid of.

Ahh whatever it is, I need sleep. I want to sleep..

On a side note...

Thank you for calling even though you're so far away just to make sure I was okay.. It means a lot. I miss hanging with you. Can't wait to see you soon :)

Am I doing the right thing?
Did I do the right thing?
Am I a horrible person?
It's for the best, right?
What is wrong with me?
Why do I feel so small?
What is going on?

FGA 20th Anniversary Ball

Lol. How slow am I? This post is long overdue. But yea, I still wanted to put up 2 of my favourite pictures from the night. Awesome awesome night filled with really really really ridiculously good looking and glamorous people :)

Check out Facebook for more pictures :)

masked

A word was released to me tonight at Elevate out of fear but out of obedience to God. And, somehow, although I didn't say it, I am grateful to the person for releasing it to me. Because, it wasn't just another word. It was the truth. I thought I was able to get away with it without anyone ever knowing. But that wasn't in accordance with God's plan. I guess He figured using one of his messengers to expose the real me would make me realise that it's about time i stop leading a double life.

Amazing Race Season 174

It's official! (in my book anyway)

If ever Amazing Race has a special 3 people perteam edition, the Lee family is going in!

I realised it can go either ways:

a) We fight and scream (I cry, Aron sulks, Alan storms off) before killing each other on national tv

OR

b) We so kick butt and win first place and we split the money equally (mummy & daddy gets $300,000, I get $300,000, and they both get $200,000 each... because let's face it, they only need x amount of shoes in their life and I need xx).

I'd like to think we can manage the second one :) So get your pom poms ready and cheer us on at the finish line!

Winning smiles!

cloudingMYthoughts

Have you ever felt like you're sometimes being used by someone when somebody else fails them? Then when you realise it, there's nothing you can do about it. When it happens again, you feel sorry for the person and meet their needs but the second that someone of more importance to them comes around, you're no longer needed and it's being rubbed in your face. And you wonder why you allow it to happen and as much as you wish it could get it out of your head, the word 'friend' keeps popping up... and then you realise that all you can do is leave it to God.

-----------------------------------------------

Have you ever had a conversation with someone for just a brief moment but for the next few days you find that you can't seem to get the person out of your head? As pure as your intentions might be, you find yourself waiting on the edge of your seat to see if he or she is the next person to pop up on your msn list. You eagerly reply the person's message. You wonder why the person's taking a minute longer than usual to reply you. You find yourself smiling from ear to ear when you're talking to the person and wonder if you're being very silly to do that. And you just can't wait to see him or her again just to have a good laugh...

Funny yet so true.

Got this from Grace on Super Wall. hehe

... You know you live in 2008 when ....

1. You go to a party, sit down and take pics and put them on facebook

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. The reason for not staying in touch with your friends is that they don't have MSN/facebook/Bebo/MySpace.

4. You'd rather look all over the house for the remote instead of just pushing the button on the TV.

6. Your evening activity is sitting at the computer.

7. You read this list, and keep nodding and smiling.

8. You think about how stupid you are for reading this.

9. You were too busy to notice number five.

10. You actually scrolled back up to check if there was a number five.

11. And now you're laughing at your stupidity.

Facebook simplifies things

everyone attempting to do the 'Amy smile'

I know I said I was going to post up lots of stuff that's been happening with pictures and all to add some colour to your day. But after posting up so many pictures on facebook, I figured, they speak for themselves. Hehe. Log in to Facebook to see what's been happening. Birthdays, surprises, gatherings, events and the lot. Speaking of birthdays, I haven't actually really thanked all of you, far and near, who made my 20th extra special. So Thank You guys! From all the dinners, surprises, wishes, gifts, calls, facebook wall posts, friendster comments (lol yes, I still use that, though not recently), and especially for those that were just there to spend time with me.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I shall stop posting things about the past. You must have read it from other blogs already anyway. I'm so slow. hahah.

Go! Facebook! Now! :)
For adding extra smiles on my birthday, here's a picture for you. Thank You, Monkey Boy!

5 hours to breathe

I can finally stop and take a breath .... for 5 hours. Handing in 3 major assignments in one week is not funny. This is just a very brief update from my very hectic schedule. Blogging from uni lol while waiting for Jas and Ange. We're heading to UWA's springfeast with Jem. I'm expecting lots of good food :)

Ange just called. That's my cue to go.

Cheerios!

Oh.. Why 5? Because in 5 hours, I have to start on a new assignment. DON'T take OT.

Saturday, October 4, 2008

in need of play

One of the worse things about having to do endless assignments is that when everyone else is playing, you're stuck working on useless interventions for your patient.

:( I want to play cluedo (on dvd!!) with the rest of them too...

heck, I'll even take soccer on ps3 or boring old Scotland Yard.

lol Hi Jeremy! Hi Drew! You guys are sitting next to me trying to see what I'm typing. No, Jeremy, I'm not writing you a love letter. But Thank You guys for doing some major editing on my assignment!

oh, I'll post about camp when i'm free. Camp was Awesome!

everyday like today!

I love the weather today!

I wore shorts to uni. which made me very happy. and I didn't have to wear a jacket. which also made me very happy.

:)

sometimes, I think it takes very little to make me happy. but also very little to make me mad. try and shoot for the first one though

:)

missed me?

hehe. i'm back.. for a short while.

it's been pretty hectic around here since i last posted. i really wanna blog about everything that's been happening/going to happen but i've got no time! i seriously think i need 37 hours in a day. got tons of pics to post too but my bandwidth is over the limit for this month so uploading pics are a no no according to the little brother. and i've been missing out on this week's episode of prison break, gossip girl, and one tree hill. speaking of oth, at the end of episode 2, i sat frozen on my bed for 5 whole minutes.. and there were only 3 letters in my head - OMG! lol sorry, digressed. anyhoo, i can't even check facebook oasis properly. hehe did i tell u that i've finally accepted facebook? lol. i know. evil thing. i realised there's never "just 5 minutes on facebook". sad, but true.

oh yes, and i've got sammy boy's virgin trip to aust pics to post. hahah. very surprised but very happy :) and my bday pics with lotsa lovely ppl. and jeremy's 21st toga party and who showed up at the end, esther's bday dinner, yan ying's stolen car plate (hehe funny story), things that have been going on at uni and prac.. there's always so much stuff that i wanna post up but then u find before u have time to post that up, something else happens and then another and another. then u end up with a whole bunch of very late posts..which sometimes i just go..screw it. let's move on. hahah. we'll see how it goes this time.

ooh going back to uni, i scored a 100 on my caa test! wooooooooot!!! lol. okayyy it's actually nth to be too proud of cos they were repeated questions from the first attempt. so i just memorised the answers i got wrong. hahaha. hey it's still legit. and i'm very very proud to say i finished my social inclusion essay that's due in 3 weeks *pats self on back* i'm not a nerd. really. hahah it's just that i have 3 other major assignments due then so i'm better off getting this one out of the way. ohh and at prac last week, we got to do more than just push the residents around in their wheelchair and brush their teeth. how exciting! we got to make them paper hats for the upcoming Melbourne Cup..... -.-'" what do i study again...?

oh well i'll tell u bout yan ying's story since it's a non-picture related post. hehe funny story.. yan ying got to her car in uni only to find one of her car plate got stolen. she was so mad that she put her human bio book on the top of her car (while checking her car plate i presume), and drove off. LOL. just laugh along even if u think it's not funny cos i found it hilarious. hehe.

ohhh i have to tell u bout my newest addiction obsession! (can't use addiction, else i would have had to go for the computer forum thing today - don't try to understand. only fga ppl wud know). anywaysss, i'm overwhelmed by the number of online shopping blogs that's out there. i somehow received the newsfeed thing for one of them online shopping blogs and just clicked on the link out of curiosity. i haven't gone one day without checking them out since. i must admit, some of them i very lala-ish. but there r some pretty nice ones out there. reasonably priced too. i saw a couple that i really really liked but they were sold out and non-restockable. i couldn't sleep on the first night. hahah. then i found the same one on another blog. oh happy day!!! lol. and kudos to muffin for running around to get it for me.

Freedom camp is on this friday till monday!!! (that's when my bandwidth thingy restarts. what perfect timing) can't wait to see what God has in store for us!! :) my biological clock is going to be screwed. haven't woken up at 7.30 am in the longest time. ohh did i mention, for prac, i was 1 of the 4 students that got to attend prac at 4-7.30pm! sweeeeeeeeett! the rest of them had 7-11am shifts. hahah. okayy i think i mentioned that before. nvm.

how's that for a very long post to make up for my temporary hiatus? it's sleepy time. 5 more weeks till the end of uni... i think. i should really check that out. goodnight!

ps: to mummy and daddy, don't worry. i'm not squandering my money away. they'r in safe hands :) miss u! love u!

afternoon at the park

I took the kids that I babysitted for out to the park last friday after they agreed to finish off their homework. they are so adorable! although, after completing my neuropsych assignment, I strongly suspect that my boy has ADHD.. help! he's driving me nuts. what do you do when you've tried every possible way to stop a little boy from kicking sand into his sister's face but it still doesn't work?

Charmaine (10), Josslyn (6), Edric (7)

Jossy and her friend, Maddie, and their little 'sandcastle with lots of flags'

40 hour famine- still alive and kicking

so i survived. hahha. it was hard to switch off my mobile, snap my laptop shut, keep my fingers away from the buttons of the microwave, pretend that bomberman is not calling my name from the ds.... and all the other stuff you can't do with electronics. but like i said, i survived :) silly thing was, when i switched on my mobile as soon as we broke fast, i didn't have any credit. way to go, amy. hahha. i must say though that something really productive came out off this weekend. i managed to finish 3 out of my 4 remaining assignment questions. AND i wrote it all out by hand *pats self on the back* i realised that it's probably  good idea to go on another famine the next time i've got an assignment due. mum and dad are probably gonna go "now then u know..." lol. yes, now i know.

my fast

It's time for the 40 Hour Famine again. This time we're going without something that really matters to us to raise money to help World Vision give kids in India their basic human rights and free them from child labour, trafficking and slavery. $40 feeds 8 kids for a month. So think about that and I suggest that if u'r not fasting, support those who are and donate to the less fortunate children in India. If u wanna donate, let me know and I'll tell u how to go about. I've collected about $670 so far but we can always help more :)

I'm gonna forego all technology/electronicals again- phone, tv, computer, radio, microwave (!!) lol, and the list goes on. if u know me, u'd know how hard it is for me. hahah. apparently some people said that meant i couldn't use cars either. so i arranged for cell to be at my place..so i wouldn't have to walk home in the middle of the night. lol. and sorry i won't be able to help u to move, jon :P 40 hours also means i've got 1 and a half days less to do my assignment which is due on friday. so much for trying to finish it earlier. my brothers are fasting food which means they aren't gonna cook which means i won't be able to eat cooked food because my stove is those heat inductor thingums.  i'll probably curl up in bed with a good book (recommendations, anyone?) and lots of snacks..unless i get really hungry and decide that i'm hardworking wnough to use the traditional stove thingum in our backyard.. would i? hahah. and i guess my warzone of a room probably needs a little cleaning up as well.. gotta be prepared in case someone pops by one of these days ;)

'why is it that everytime something or someone good comes along, you have to find a way to push it away? why do you have to pick an argument over something so trivial that would cause a rift? why is it so easy for you to trust strangers but a lifetime to trust someone you love? why can't you accept that people do stay? why are you fighting off something that makes you happy?

what are you afraid of?'

Flourishing Boobies

"Boobies!"

was what you probably would have remembered most if you were at FGA Women's Flourish event.

need i tell you this is another very late post? hahah.

anyhoo, so we had another Flourish event called 'One size fits all' :) it was actually my first time attending a Flourish event.. and it was

that good.

It was basically a Huge women's gathering, without a single Y chromosome in the room (except for setting up beforehand and cleaning up after :P)

this time we had the owners of Femme de Fe
mme from Subiaco come to give us some very educational, as Jasmine puts it, female support tips ;)

it's so good to be able to be part of sth where us girls/women can just be so open (..the right kind of open, please) to each other, knowing that (and even showing non church goers) that there IS a place where we as women can come to for love and support

some pictures from the day... just some :) after all, there WAS a reason why the doors were shut to all you men.

lol go wash your brains whoever was expecti
ng to see some boobies in this post.

i'm backkk.

i've got this strange feeling that i'm somehow obliged to blog. hahah. plus i wanna pen all these things down to look back on someday.

anyways, ange has already blogged bout Al-Fu's wedding with most of or pics so u can read about it here, if u haven't already. lol yes, i'm slow.

One of the highlights of this year would have to be
Danson's Amazing Race, in conjuction with his 20th birthday and farewell (which he later found out that he didn't have to leave that soon- so yay for all of us! lol). i must say, it was extremely well planned considering he did it alone. so kudos to u, danson :)

The day started off at Jandakot airport where pilot boy had a little sausage sizzle going on. ange and i made some banana-marshmallow-chocolate dessert thingy *drools* hahah. ohh and we all had to wear a bandana. i had the hardest time looking for one :S anyways, we then split into 7 teams of 3 or 4

L-R: Team HURRH!! (with extra oomph! lol best non-boring team picture!), Kenny's angels -.-'", Team AAA

L-R: Battalion 28, Italian Job

L-R: Team (wachamacallit), Ginger O, Aeroplane Jelly

We started off with a Road Block, where 1 person from each team had to perform the task. Team HURRH chose the only girl from their team... *sweat*. we had to run around Jandakot airport looking for the only shop that sells parts i think. my heart almost dropped out. haha i saw the place from far! but i didnt think it was that cos everyone else who ran back with the answer came from another direction.. lesson learnt: never ever follow other donkeys :P haha

1st challenge was at Myaree's utopia where we had to say one of 2 lines.. either 'i'm a fan of Jay Chou or i'm a fan of Stephen Chow which will get us either a sweet or bitter bubble tea. when i was reading the clue it said "board a chartered plane...".

me: AAAAAAAHHHHHH! he's gonna fly us on a plane!!!!! *big huge smile*
Jon & D: impossible. r u sure? read finish first
me: yeaaaa it says board a chartered plane and get ur pilot to take u to ur next destination.

*reads reads reads*

Jon & D: Utopia Myaree!

me: ohhh.. then when do we get to ride in the plane??
Jon & D: -.-'"

2nd challenge- Narrows Bridge, where Agape goes for biscuiting events. Danson was there to greet us with our next clue and a CD. We were given a little pink plastic ring which we had to throw into the fire.. - King's Park! Jon's car didnt have a CD player so couldnt play it. the other teams later told us it was the Amazing Race theme song which got everyone even more pumped up.

3rd challenge- Kings Park. lol no, we didn't throw the ring into the fire. Chi Yen was at the Whispering Wall waiting for us. We had to recite the whole chorus to "No greater love" which was also in the CD to obtain our next clue. that was my (one and only) forte. ahha Jon & D just followed along (lol like in White Chicks when they were singing 1000 miles). then we ran back to the car b4 we even opened our next clue.. -.-'" and our next challenge was just right where we were before..

4th challenge- ran past chi yen again and she was laughing at us. anyway it was a detour. so we picked the one where we had to count the number of soldiers in some battalion thing.. and WALK all the way to the top of the DNA tower to reveal our answer to Darren and get the next clue.. lol i couldn't walk that far and was obviously slowing Jon & D down so decided to take turns and piggyback me. our answer was wrong :O hahah so we had a 5 mins penalty and waited on the top of the DNA tower with Italian Job and Hui and Flick from Team Aeroplane Jelly (they were split up from the guys who went for the wrong detour.. or sth like that. haha so they had to wait)

5th challenge- Road block, where 1 person from each team had to eat a whole piece of dry bread in 1 minute. Easier said than done. Failure to do so resulted in all team members eating 2 pieces of bread each. lol only Alvin managed to complete that one successfully..

6th challenge- Detour at Danson's old school, Shenton College, where we had to pick between Academic or Athletic. Only team Ginger O picked Athletic, where they had to do what Tan was doing in the pic...around the huge field. In Academic, we chose to name all 20 elements of the Periodic Table... thinking that I could remember it but obviously all those years of Chemistry went down the drain. So we called up Lyndon ;P hahaha who patiently recited it all for us. little did we know that almost all the other teams did that as well. hahhah poor Lyndon.

7th challenge- we had to answer the clue that would lead us to Challenge Stadium, where his mum was waiting to give us the next clue. that was pretty simple.

Pitstop!- Finally! ... but it was all the way at Scarborough at the Observation. We came in 4th but nevertheless, it was nth short of a fulfilling and fun day. And i liked how he put it in his last clue where 'it was never mentioned that only the 1st team to arrive would be the winner'. very insightful hahah.

we then proceeded to a beach side house to celebrate the rest of the night. ohhh daryl arrived from singapore and we celebrated Jon's 22nd that night as well- with lychee 'cake', ais potong, mahjong, family guy and an A380 SIA model plane.

the end! i'm rather proud of myself for this long post :P hahah.
